STRATEGIES FOR UNITING PEOPLE
a senior thesis project design for a health enrichment center for the community of Compton, CA
S.U.P. aims to enhance opportunities for the users to redirect the generational cycle of low-income students, their families, and the greater community.
A comparison of the adaptation in arid deserts and urban deserts directed the spatial design solution. arid deserts require inhabitants to make use of the surrounding environment to be protected and survive from the elements. Within urban deserts and food deserts, similar adjustments need to be made for people to sustain oneself.

RETAIL DESIGN INSTITUTE STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION 2017
a senior studio project for an eye wear retail store in Santa Monica, CA
The concept follows similar organization structure and function of the strands of muscles that control the human eyeball and dilation of the pupil. this solution satisfies the need for a strong storefront that will intrigue people into the store and maintain the brand's strategy. The architecture from the outside flows into the interior which reinforces the store's image. The lighting design was intended to create a sense of movement within the main frame.
A.I.M.
ARCHITECTS IN MOTION
AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS LBSB COMPETITION 2017
FIRST PLACE DESIGN
a versatile presentation tool for AIA LBSB design awards to be displayed at their event and throughout the city of Long Beach
The intent was to persuade the viewers direction with a flexible structure. comprised of six or more dynamic modules, A.I.M. is adaptable to multiple locations for presentation. The fluid, yet solid nature of the system allows for the motion of the viewers to be uninhibited while keeping them on a directed course. This solution also includes the use of recyclable materials and a thought-out install, strike, and store process.

JUMPCUT CREATIVE
A SENIOR STUDIO PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH ZGF
a digital ad production office in downtown Los Angeles, CA
The conceptual direction was inspired from George Méliès invention of a jump cut technique in film production. Its function is created by sequential shots of the same subjects taken from different positions. Within the space, a spatial identity is developed visually by discontinuity, exposure, and compression through emphasis and jarring reactions. The implemented user experience is a manipulation of the human perception to create a sense of unpredictability that emphasizes the surprising content of JumpCut, a fictitious company.
ENDEAVOR CHARTER
A JUNIOR STUDIO PROJECT
an indoor tk-8 campus design in Los Angeles, CA that meets traditional and SpEd students’ requirements
The intention of this design is to encourage the development of a child's curiosity. The ocean is a metaphor used to represent the ever-changing and unknown wonders that adults and children have. Curves and direction demonstrate a continuous energy and impact that are captured in the space.

SEQUOIA CLIMBING SPACE
reTH!NKING ARCHITECTURE COMPETITION 2016
an experiential activity for the explorers in Sequoia National Forest
The purpose of this design to allow the explorer to "discover new heights within the giant forest". Inspired by the height and mass of sequoia trees, a climbing space emerged that brings the audience to experience what it is like to be one of the these tall natural structures. Once can climb, jump, or walk on to each platform to get a new perspective of the forest's surroundings. There are some platforms with glass insets for one to see what is below them. Within the climbing structure there are two buildings: one serving as an administrative office and the other a museum for the forest.
LA FONDUE
STUDENT SPACE PLANNING PROJECT
a restaurant in the historic Bradbury Building of Los Angeles, CA
In this high-end restaurant, there are three spatial organization concepts implemented in this design: compartmentalization, open and relaxed circulation, and a metaphor. The space planning solution is compartmentalized to create an intimate experience. The metaphor of the circular flow of a fondue pot is evoked in the circulation that people would move throughout the restaurant..

FINAL MODEL BUILDING CLASS PROJECT
a realistic and working full-detail model of the CSULB design building
At 1/8" scale, one can see the detail of the exterior finishes and components, half of the interior specifications, the working lighting system, and the newly proposed outdoor design plaza for the building. My team and I led the creation of the entire layout for the model and its components. I helped troubleshoot all the tolerances for the materials chosen for the structure. I also worked with my team to create the exterior brick laser cutting pieces, airbrushing of the eucalyptus trees, and the main glue process.

TRANSFORMATION MODEL
A CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR THE FEELING OF "GIVE AND TAKE"
As humans, we do our best to give our all to the things we love and care about and with that, we take from the people and things that give to us. This model is handmade using basswood. Pieces are thicker or thinner than the next and there is a transformation from perforations to extrusions.
